Welcome to ME

After a national search, The Autocorrect is pleased to announce that the position of Chief Science Officer has been filled by our company CEO, a Roland SPD-SX known to his friends as Roger.

Through the magic of MIDI, Roger has expanded his reach to incorporate a number of additional scientific instruments that should help to offset the loss of our founding Scientific Explorer, Andy.

Please join us in congratulating Roger on his new position!

Farewell

It is with mixed emotions that we announce Andy Wilke’s retirement from the Autocorrect. As Chief Science Officer, Andy helped to drive and define the technological footprint of the organization and our continuous experimentation in the pursuit of the perfect sound.

His influences can be felt in all aspects of the organization, most especially in the songs National Security Love Letter, Ant Farm, Courtesy Patrol, and the all-important breakdown in the Mesmerist.

His relaxed and low-key persona helped to bring people together in otherwise awkward moments and his positive attitude helped to make easy many a difficult situation.

Please join us in congratulating Andy on his successful career and in wishing him luck in all future endeavors.

New Hire!

Please welcome our new Chief Information Security Officer, Christine Mayer!

She also sings. You may know her from appearances as a Consultant at past meetings, as well as on our last CD.

A List of People We Forgot to Thank

In the heat of the moment and the rush to finish the artwork, I ended up omitting a few people who should have been thanked. While we could just say “anyone not specifically named is included in The Fun Committee”, that’s not enough.

So, in no particular order, except roughly alphabetical…

  • The Academy
  • Acker
  • Bob Henne
  • City of Champaign (list out the names of all residents)
  • Former mayor Don Gerard
  • Frank Herbert (but not his son)
  • Ian McDonald
  • Kim Stanley Robinson
  • Kowloon Walled City
  • The Link Amp God
  • Lonely Trailer
  • Maria Bamford
  • Neal Stephenson
  • Rex’s parents
  • Rex’s relatives (listed individually—first in chronological and then in alphabetical order)
  • Rex’s friends (each one, individually)
  • Richard’s friends (all three of them)
  • Roger
  • Snayl
  • Various pedal manufacturers (all of them)
  • WEFT 90.1 FM
  • William Gibson

That’s all for now.
